Grin Archive Node Backup

You must know how to run Grin node prior to placing the chain_data in the right location.

DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS:

A. For Linux distributions
1. Download grin_archive_20260215.tar.gz and the .sha256 file
2. Verify integrity: sha256sum -c grin_archive_20260215.sha256
3. Extract: tar -xzf grin_archive_20260215.tar.gz
4. Move chain_data directory to the same directory as your grin binary
5. If you don't have grin-server.toml, run: grin server config
6. Set archive_mode = true in grin-server.toml
7. Start your Grin archive node

B. For Windows (using 7-Zip):
1. Download grin_archive_20260215.tar.gz
2. Right-click on the file
3. Select "7-Zip -> Extract Here"
4. Move chain_data directory to your Grin installation
5. If you don't have grin-server.toml, run: grin server config
6. Set archive_mode = true in grin-server.toml
7. Start your Grin archive node

Important Notes:
- Archive mode is required for this chain_data to work properly
- Ensure you have enough disk space: ~30GB free for extracting,
  expecting 50GB or more for stable operation
- The chain_data should be in the same directory (by default) as your
  grin binary, depends on the defined parameter in grin-server.toml
